The Charitable Trusts and Philanthropy team are granting experts who are engaging with the not-for-profit sector on a daily basis, this gives us a unique viewpoint across the sector, which is an amazing platform to work from,” Hepworth said. “The William Buckland Foundation has a well-considered, thoughtful strategy for its giving that looks closely at where the investment is needed to empower change and have a sustainable impact, I am delighted to be continuing this impressive legacy.”
The William Buckland Foundation was established in 1964 and since then has distributed more than $105 million in grants. It has a focus on improving lives of vulnerable Victorians through grants that support better housing, health, employment and education outcomes and initiatives that build resilience and strengthen regional communities.
Recently the Foundation donated over $156,000 to a joint initiative by Very Special Kids (VSK) and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) that will provide children with life-threatening medical conditions living in regional areas free transport to a respite care facility.
William Buckland’s wishes are stewarded by the William Buckland Foundation trustees; Chairman Sandy Clark, Dr Jane Gilmour OAM, Graeme Sinclair and Jennifer McGregor AM alongside Equity Trustees, represented by Jodi Kennedy.
Equity Trustees distributes around $70 million annually to Australia’s charitable and not for profit sector.
